The European Fields mats can be used for any land and air combat games.
The felt base color was specifically chosen because it best matches the flocking used by many tabletop
wargamers. This mat has farming fields and pastures airbrushed onto the felt surface so that the mat
perfectly matches the feel of any game taking place in Western or Eastern Europe. The 1, 1½ and 2 inch hex pattern is perefect for 1/300th and 1/600th scale games,
whereas the 3 and the 4 inch hex pattern is
the perfect match for air combat games in both 1/300th and 1/144th scale games, whereas 5 inch hex mats are
great for use with 1/144th and 1/72nd, as well as 1/300th (many people
play 1/300th scale air combat games with large hex sizes), all the way up to 15mm scale games land based games.
Note: This mat is geomorphic. When you place two, or more, European Fields mats side-by-side, the terrain features will match up to
form one uniform mat.
As with all Hotz Artworks felt game
mats, the mats have been treated with a protective fabric binder that helps to prevent pilling and other forms of wear normally associated with
felt, and also
helps to repel water -- these mats
are designed to take normal gaming punishment and should last a very long time.
Silk screen printed grid patterns: You have the choice of purchasing game mats printed with 1, 1½, 2, 3, 4 or 5 inch
hexes or 1, 2 or 4 inch squares, or you may choose a game mat without hexes. Mats are available in the following sizes:
